The Sabah Tourism Board, or generally known as Sabah Tourism was established in August 1976. It is an agency of the Sabah State Government operating under the purview of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment. Sabah Tourism’s primary responsibility is the marketing and promotion of tourism for the State.

Sabah Tourism works closely with other sister agencies such as Sabah Parks, Sabah Wildlife, Environmental Protection Department, Sabah Museum and Sabah Cultural Board – a link which enables Sabah Tourism to promote Sabah as a nature-based destination supplemented with rich traditional and cultural heritage.
