Picture memory foam; it was originally created as padding to improve crash protection for airline passengers, according to the NASA Technology Transfer Program, but now it’s used in everything from mattresses and pillows to amusement park rides and horseback saddles. These products may have been initially devised for professionals, but have now been passed on to the diving community at large, making them universally accepted and adopted by hobbyists and professionals alike.

Each instructor that finishes the course has to be of a certain skillset and quality, and be able to hold responsibility of another’s life. The Course Director of the Year 360 Award is for the instructor trainer that chooses and qualifies the right guy. This awardee is an all-rounder, he comes with chock-full of dedication, passion, and strict standards, yet at the same time has catered to different individual learning abilities.

The awards also honour those pioneers who attempt to strive above the rest by adopting and utilising brand new technologies to ensure the sustainability of our oceans for the generations to come.
The Green Fins Award is featured in the award category, which will be presented to the Green Fins member dive center with the lowest environmental impact, demonstrated by an assessment of business practice conducted within the last 18 months. Green Fins members will be automatically put forward for this award and are not required to enter.
