Mexico based Brittish Underwater Photographer Robert Stansfield has recently made a name for himself by pioneering Blackwater diving in Mexico. In 2021 he founded Blackwater Cozumel the first Mexican Blackwater dive . With his tireless efforts Robert has placed the island firmly on the blackwater diving map.
Before devoting all of his time to underwater photography, Robert worked in live event video. Touring the world with bands and musicians as well as working at world sporting events. Designing installing and operating video systems Robert worked with closely with award winning directors. Operating cameras on many World arena and stadium tours. Over the course of his touring career Robert grew his passion for making striking images and using framing as a narrative tool. Taking the knowledge gleaned from the events industry Robert now teaches macro and blackwater photography from his home base on Isla Cozumel Mexico.
