Elsie Gabriel [India] Ambassador for India Ocean Quest, Co Founder Ocean School, Founder, Young Environmentalists Programme Trust, National Coordinator Oceans Climate Reality Project India
The goal of ocean literacy initiatives is important to enable behavior change where citizens take direct and sustainable action to achieve sustainable solutions to marine environment issues. With over 15 years of experience in environmental and ocean education Elsie has been educating the students, communities with focus on the next generation. Elsie is working with Ocean Communities as Agents of change and has dived in over 23 global ocean sites like Galapagos, Malapascuya, Maldives, Grand Cayman, Mexico, Bahamas, Andamans, Lakshadweep and Australia researching the same.

Mark Rausch [USA]
Passion for diving and leadership describe the values of Mark Rausch. As a source director trainer for the Handicap Scuba Association (HSA), Mark travels globally putting the HSA program into the lives of others, so they, in turn, can enrich the lives of other individuals with a disability through diving. Sharing the HSA program with other divers fills the void from the loss of his youngest son, Robert passing from cystic fibrosis. This loss caused Mark to realize all he wanted to do for the rest of his life was help others with disabilities, and globally sharing the HSA program became his mission.

Matt Wenger [Switzerland]
With twenty years as a PADI Pro under his belt, Swiss-made Matt Wenger is coming into his fourth year as the PADI Regional Manager for the Maldives. Having first set foot in the island nation in 2008 as the dive centre manager for Anantara Dhigu, Veli and Naladhu, and later working for the Park Hyatt brand, PADI Course Director and Examiner Matt has a long history with the country. Since his return in 2016 as PADI Regional Manager, Matt has overseen the steep growth in PADI’s reach in the Maldives, across both luxury resorts and emerging local island destinations. Matt is passionate about keeping a commitment to the environment at the core of everything. PADI represents in the Maldives and is dedicated to implementing PADI’s four “Pillars of Change”.

Towards a more sustainable Cosmetics Industry: Plastic Issues and Pollution.

 

Speaker:

Louise Hardman [Australia]
Louise started Plastic Collective in 2016 to develop and create The Shruder – waste plastics shredding/extrusion machine and educational training package for remote communities. Louise is passionate about reducing plastic waste and believes education is a key component to global change.

Living in the small coastal village of Woolgoolga, Nth NSW (Aust.) Louise developed a mobile recycling machine and an educational program focused on the chemistry of plastics and how to transform waste into valuable items. She started running workshops in how to transform plastic waste and ‘Know your Plastics’ seminars, as she developed the Plastic Collective business.

After winning the Coffs Coast Innovation Grand Prize (June, 2017), she joined forces with Mark Wolf and her brother, Steve Hardman, to scale the company.

In November, Louise was a finalist in the Sustainability Awards – Waste Less Reduce More. In December, she competed in Australia’s largest StartUp pitch competition and came 7th (1st woman and 1st with a hardware solution) out of 100 StartUps.

Craig Stephen [Australia] Managing Director of Mike Ball Dive Expedition
Craig Stephen began diving in 1985 in the North Sea, and was certified two years later in Australia. Today, Craig is the Managing Director of Mike Ball Dive Expeditions. With the knowledge gained during his dives in the Great Barrier Reef, Coral Sea and the waters of Papua New Guinea and the company’s responsibilities towards environmental protection, Craig’s affiliations with NGOs, research groups, and scientists are aimed at conserving the world’s heritage for future generations.

David Strike [Australia] ADEX Ambassador for Technical Diving, Pioneer & Fellow of The Explorers Club
A former Instructor Trainer and Certifier with a background in Military, Commercial, Recreational and Technical Diving, David has authored several hundred dive-related articles. The ADEX Ambassador for Technical Diving, Pioneer, he is a recipient of the ADEX Lifetime Achievement Award and a Fellow of The Explorers Club of New York.

#1 Photography

Photography requires a keen eye for detail and a good set of photography equipment. Good photography requires patience. Experienced photographers and individuals alike come together, either in a panel format or a single presentation, to share their breathtaking shots in the deep blue. Marvel at their photographic feats every month and even pick up a photography secret or two!

 

#2 Regular Session

Every month, we’re joined by industry experts and game changers who actively immerse themselves into the exciting world of diving. Our speakers will put forward their unique perspectives and their personal anecdotes on the unpredictable dive industry as well as their favourite dive destinations. Get decked up for your next dive and come join us in these sessions happening every month — you never know what you might discover next!

 

#3 DiveTraining

The session will cover the vast world of diving, from essential skills and techniques to crash courses on dive safety to the challenging art of deep breathing. Joined by qualified dive masters, don’t miss out on learning from the pros! Regardless of your dive proficiency, this monthly session is great for refining your skills and picking up new diving tips and tricks along the way.

 

#4 Animal behaviour

Every month, ADEX Pixel invites a speaker to explore the fascinating kingdom of Animalia! Covering mating behaviours, migration patterns, and the many such peculiarities of animals, this session is a great informative introduction to the natural world. Whether you’re a student, a diver, or just an avid animal enthusiast, join us every month for an exciting session with the experts!

 

#5 BlueGreen360

The oceans have fallen prey to the talons of climate change and we’re doing our part in making a change. Happening every month, come hear about what ocean activists and industry players have to say about the current climate. The challenges faced by communities and the inventive efforts in place to alleviate the crisis are some of the concerning topics discussed during these sessions.

 

#6 In Conversation with David Strike

The charming David Strike graces us in this enthralling monthly series — In Conversation with David Strike. David invites to the session some of the diving world’s most distinguished individuals from all over the world. There’s never a dull moment with David and his guests as they embark on a compelling conversation surrounding their dive portfolio, that’s undoubtedly bursting at the seams.
