Speakers:

David Strike [Australia]
Certified as a diver in 1961, with a background encompassing military, commercial, scientific and technical diving sectors – and proficient and qualified in Open-Circuit and Closed Circuit Scuba, and Surface Demand Diving equipment – Australian-based, David Strike is a former Diving Instructor and Diver Instructor Trainer . and a regular editorial contributor on dive related topics to publications from around the world. Organiser of several world-class diving events – with an emphasis on technical diving – he is the recipient of several Industry Recognition awards, including the ADEX Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Fellow of The Explorers Club of
New York.

David Street [UK]
David is a British engineer and the CEO of his companies Dive Systems, Reb-Tek and Reb-Medical.
He started diving in 1985 while living and working in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and switched to rebreathers
in 2008. He is a PADI and SSI Instructor, and the Dive Systems ITT.
Since 2009 David has lived and worked in Madagascar with the Blue Ventures marine conservation NGO,
as well as Italy, Malta and Germany, more recently concentrating on developing his technical and deep
diving skills.
Unhappy with traditional technical CCR bailout options, he then set about designing and building his
own experimental bailout rebreather.
Undeterred by the inevitable equipment close calls along the way, the R&D and test diving in Malta
became a journey of faith, commitment, and determination which finally produced the seminal Proteus
P2, a compact, modular, multi-purpose mCCR.
During the Covid-19 lockdown David maximized the time to develop the all new Dive Systems Veles P4
backmount eCCR, the Recon chestmount eCCR, the Medical grade Iso-Vent closed circuit non-invasive
respirator, and finally, working with Juergensen Marine in the USA, the new TigerShark technical dive
computer / eCCR controller.
David now divides his time between Germany and India, overseeing the development of his technical,
commercial, military, and medical products while also continuing the development of new and
innovative PPE, Cave and Mine Rescue life support solutions.

Mark Powell [UK]
Mark is Director of Global Development for SDI/TDI, an SDI/TDI Instructor Trainer
Evaluator and a member of the Global Training Advisor Panel. He also represents
SDI/TDI on a number of international standards groups.

In 2008 Mark published Deco for Divers, a widely acclaimed overview of the theory
and physiology of decompression. This has quickly become the standard text on the
subject and is recommended reading by a number of major diving agencies. In 2010
Deco for divers was awarded “Publication of the Conference” at the EuroTEK.10
technical diving conference and in 2014 it won the Media Award at TekDive USA. In
2019 Mark followed this up with a new book Technical Diving – An Introduction and
has another new book in production.

Tiffany Norberg [Sweden]
Based in Sweden, Tiffany began diving in 2004 where she fell in love with life underwater, especially in the colder regions around Scandinavia. She became an instructor in 2007 teaching in Lake Vättern in Sweden while also diving wrecks in the Baltic Sea and Norway while developing her skills as a technical and rebreather diver.

In 2015 she was invited to join the Finnish wreck exploration team; Badewanne who search, dive and document historically significant wrecks in the eastern Baltic
With many years of experience in cold water diving all around the Nordic region, she is one of the top female divers in Scandinavia, regularly presenting both the diving projects she works with and being a role model for promotion of women in technical diving.

Aron Arngrimmson [Iceland]

Chris Haslam [Australia]
Chris Haslam is a partner at RAID Asia and Dive.VENTURES, a leading dive equipment distributor in Thailand. He has been teaching diving for 18 years in multiple agencies at the highest levels. His passion for diving, in particular technical diving, has taken him all over the world, diving in unique locations. He was a team member of “Expedition Hamilton by Ocean Reef” where a memorial plaque was attached to the USCGC Alexander Hamilton, the U.S Coast Guard’s first loss of WW2. He has been involved in many wreck expeditions in the Gulf of Thailand to locate and identify WW2 wrecks. Chris is currently involved in another project through the South East Asia Explorers Club exploring a virgin cave on mainland Thailand, the information collected will be used to help a small village from being mined.

Dr Dawn Kernagis [USA]
Dr. Dawn Kernagis is a Research Scientist in the area of human performance optimization and risk mitigation for operators in extreme environments, such as those working undersea, at altitude, and in space. Dawn has also been a diver and manager of numerous underwater exploration, research, and conservation projects around the world since 1993, including the deep underwater exploration of Wakulla Springs and surrounding caves for over a decade. In 2016, Dawn was selected as one of six crew members to live and conduct research while living underwater with NASA’s undersea mission, NEEMO 21. She was selected as an inductee into the Women Divers Hall of Fame (Class of 2016) and as a Fellow National of The Explorers Club. In 2018, Dawn also received the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society’s Young Scientist Award.

Richie Kohler [USA]
Richie Kohler is a filmmaker, author and explorer whose passion for diving and exploring shipwrecks has taken him to all corners of the globe. A founding member of the “Atlantic Wreck Divers” Kohler has spent the last 45 years exploring lost shipwrecks. Kohler holds nearly every diving qualification and has certified scores of technical divers in advanced diving techniques.

In 1992 his work on an unknown German U-boat was the focus of an award-winning NOVA documentary, “Hitler’s Lost Sub” and detailed in the New York Times best-selling book, Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson. Kohler co-hosted the popular History Channel program “Deep Sea Detectives” and produced numerous television programs on some of the most famous shipwrecks in the world, including the Andrea Doria, RMS Titanic, and the HMHS Britannic. He has written dozens of articles about shipwrecks, deep diving and diver safety and in 2016 published his first book, Mystery of the Last Olympian.

A Fellow in the Explorer’s Club, Kohler continues to lead expeditions around the world in search of lost ships and the mysteries they hold.

Robin Cuesta [France]
Robin Cuesta is the first active Technical Cave Diving Instructor operating in Indonesia. He started exploring caves in South-east Sulawesi three years ago and never stopped since then. His passion led him to unravel unexplored caves all over the country from Sumatra to Papua passing by Java and Sulawesi.
When he is not exploring underwater caves, he teaches Cave and Rebreather diving with Sulawesi Dive Trek, the first Indonesia-based dive center providing cave diving education. His passion for cave diving has made him an active advocate for the aquifer preservation and conservation in Indonesia.

Beatrice Rivoira [Italy]
Beatrice is an Italian vocational diver with a Master Degree in Marine Biology and
Oceanography. With 20 years of diving experience, she has worked around the world as a CCR & OC instructor and participated in biological and archaeological underwater projects.

From 2013 she has joined “Zero Emissions” with which she continues to teach and
educate, as well as training herself in different environments. She co-authored the book “Biodiving”, translated and contributed to several other diving texts. Her hope is t oinspire more and more young people to protect and discover the natural beauties of our underwater world.

Rosemary E Lunn [UK]
Rosemary E Lunn (Roz) is a multi-agency diver (tech, rebreather and cave diver), dive pro and a staff writer for X-Ray Magazine.
From when she can remember, Roz has always wanted to dive. She took her first fin-steps in 1992, before earning her dive instructor qualifications in 1997.
Rosemary co-founded EUROTEK, established TEKDiveUSA and organised Rebreather Forum 3. She is a prolific writer and actively serves the scuba diving industry, sitting on both the Scuba Industries Trade Association Board and the British Diving Safety Group. She is a Women Divers Hall of Fame Associate Member and a SSI Platinum Diver.

#1 Photography

Photography requires a keen eye for detail and a good set of photography equipment. Good photography requires patience. Experienced photographers and individuals alike come together, either in a panel format or a single presentation, to share their breathtaking shots in the deep blue. Marvel at their photographic feats every month and even pick up a photography secret or two!

 

#2 Regular Session

Every month, we’re joined by industry experts and game changers who actively immerse themselves into the exciting world of diving. Our speakers will put forward their unique perspectives and their personal anecdotes on the unpredictable dive industry as well as their favourite dive destinations. Get decked up for your next dive and come join us in these sessions happening every month — you never know what you might discover next!

 

#3 DiveTraining

The session will cover the vast world of diving, from essential skills and techniques to crash courses on dive safety to the challenging art of deep breathing. Joined by qualified dive masters, don’t miss out on learning from the pros! Regardless of your dive proficiency, this monthly session is great for refining your skills and picking up new diving tips and tricks along the way.

 

#4 Animal behaviour

Every month, ADEX Pixel invites a speaker to explore the fascinating kingdom of Animalia! Covering mating behaviours, migration patterns, and the many such peculiarities of animals, this session is a great informative introduction to the natural world. Whether you’re a student, a diver, or just an avid animal enthusiast, join us every month for an exciting session with the experts!

 

#5 BlueGreen360

The oceans have fallen prey to the talons of climate change and we’re doing our part in making a change. Happening every month, come hear about what ocean activists and industry players have to say about the current climate. The challenges faced by communities and the inventive efforts in place to alleviate the crisis are some of the concerning topics discussed during these sessions.

 

#6 In Conversation with David Strike

The charming David Strike graces us in this enthralling monthly series — In Conversation with David Strike. David invites to the session some of the diving world’s most distinguished individuals from all over the world. There’s never a dull moment with David and his guests as they embark on a compelling conversation surrounding their dive portfolio, that’s undoubtedly bursting at the seams.
