AD INSERTION [BELOW]
Ahmed Gabr, a 42-year-old ex-Egyptian army officer, is a Guinness World Record holder for two world records – the deepest male scuba dive (332.35 metres) into the Red Sea, off the coast of Dahab, Egypt, which is the deepest ever, and the deepest sea dive in 2014.
With an illustrious military career, he eventually earned a scholarship to attend the US Army Combat Diver course and became the only certified US Combat Diver in the Middle East.
Ahmad launched his diving career at the age of 18, with recreational diving and progressed his way through to get his diving instructor training with an aim to develop both his mental and physical abilities.
As a technical diving instructor trainer, he is backed by 20+ years of experience in sport and military diving; an ex-Special Forces officer, a graduate of the US Combat Diver course, his passion for technical diving began soon after becoming a professional dive instructor in 1996.
“Every person needs to challenge themselves and have an objective and a goal to achieve.”
Making a stand for our oceans, he co-founded an organisation, Imagine if, together with Omar Samra and mobilised 614 divers for the world’s largest underwater clean-up in 2015.
